Hosts and PTSI Resilience Trainers John Salerno and Samantha Horwitz talk with Dr. Carrie Steiner, Founder of First Responders Wellness Center on @A Badge of Honor TV.
Dr. Steiner is a licensed clinical psychologist who also has 13 years of experience as a Chicago Police officer in addition to being a Crisis Intervention Team Officer, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Trainer at the Chicago Police Academy. She is a national speaker on mental illness and police response. She has worked with the U.S. Marshals, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Department of Homeland Security, and several other federal, state, and local agencies. She has conducted critical incident debriefings, trauma therapy, risk assessments, fitness for duty, Miranda warnings, fitness to stand trial, and pre-employment selection for public safety departments. She has worked at Cook county and Kane county jails conducting therapy and forensic testing.
As the founder of First Responders Wellness Center, Carrie currently works as a licensed psychologist conducting forensic evaluations, providing police and first responders with trauma and EMDR therapy, and providing police departments with police related psychological testing and therapy. The First Responders Wellness Center (FRWC) is a psychological and training resource for first responders, departments and federal agencies. FRWC specializes in strategic therapy and intervention techniques for law enforcement, fire service, EMS/EMT, corrections, ER staff, federal law enforcement agencies, and veterans.
